Valentines

Old Valentines adorn the mantel. These were given to my Mother.
I have all the old candy boxes set out as well, hers and mine.
Oh, Groundhog's Day, can't forget that!
Every day is a Holiday in February!

I love your Valentine's cards and candy boxes... soon it will be Groundhog day - I wonder what he will predict?

Hi Deb,
My Mother treasured her Valentines.
I also always treasured mine. Thus I have many Valentines from her childhood as well as my own. Many of my Valentines were made for me by my children and my husband. I have framed many of them and have them hanging or sitting here and there about the house in February.
I think Groundhog's Day is so fun!
We will be checking the birds this year to see if they see their shadows. We relocated the neighborhood grounghog after he ate the vegetable garden twice last year.
I am looking forward to February.

Your Valentine's Day cards are beautiful...and even more special that they were your mum's!!

Dear French Nest,
I have framed many old Valentines.
They hang on the walls and sit about. The candy boxes also were saved and are treasures. They are on stands about the house.
My father celebrated Valentine's Day. It was the one holiday he seemed to enjoy. I have fond memories of him delivering his Valentines. He delivered to all six of his adult children's houses. I was his last stop. I would have dinner fixed for him and my Mother. I always made my Father's favorite supper, stuffed peppers. My Father died in 1992.
I miss him.
Valentine's Day is a quiet holiday. I like that.
