Giant Swallowtail

She is gorgeous.

A Labor Day gift.

I watched
as she flew from flower to flower

her wings never stopping.

She flew around the house a few times.

Once she found the
Garden Rue she laid her egg.
A labor of hope.

WHooo hooooo. What a beauty. I hope her egg is one of many and they all hatch. Won't that be grand??!! Our meadow rue is dead to the ground. I hope that with some rain it will survive. No rain yet.

Sherry,

Never got my photo of a Giant! These are sweet! Once I was chasing a Giant and I was stopped by G men and told to put my camera in the trunk, VP Al Gore was vacationing across the street ocean side from where I was chasing the Giant!

She's exquisite - I've never seen a Giant. What a treat this is! BTW, I enjoyed your Safari post as well and the compost tea. Neat!

She is such a pretty butterfly! We are seeing a fair number of monarchs, but none that have posed for me. I don't recall seeing any last summer...
