Sunday Safari

                                                Today is
                                      "Day Out of Time".

I am celebrating!

Once again I commit to
living in harmony.

I am reflecting,
 thinking, writing

                                         and planning.

I am reading and reading
and reading some more.

I am finding ways I can help to heal
our wounded Earth.

The female
 Tiger Swallowtail,
in her black dress,

is my favorite of all the butterflies.

Two lovely females

came to the butterfly bush.

If I was to be a butterfly
I would want to be a female
Tiger Swallowtail,
in a black dress.

The Buckeye is my husband's favorite.

I go to the gardens
and cut my mint for my evening tea.
These are butterfly days.

Tonight we will walk at moon rise.
We will walk under the Full Buck Moon.

Today I celebrate.
Happy Day out of Time.
Happy Sunday Safari.

Leo the Lion

The sun is in Leo the Lion.

I am learning about these big cats.

I am finding my roar.

I am learning the history
of humans and lions.

I am aware of the lions in my city.
The symbolism of protection is perfect
 for this insurance company's building.

In ancient Egypt the Nile River would flood
when the sun was in Leo.

These were life giving waters.

The Lion Paw shell is beautiful.

I am looking in my backyard

for an ant lion,
which is not an ant or a lion.

There are big cats in
North America.

We are walking late in the evening
under the waxing Moon
of the Mountain Lion.

I have seen bobcat scat
 in my backyard.

Once again the Spicebush Swallowtail
came to the Butterfly Bush.

I will be checking the
 Spicebushes for caterpillars.

The female Zebra Swallowtail
found the Paw-paws.

We are under a heat advisory.
I am inside.
I am nesting.

I am honoring my hearth in summer.

Sunday Safari

The Zebra Swallowtails

are gracing the gardens.

I do hope the female

finds the Paw-paw.

We planted the bushes for her.

The Silver Spots shimmer
in the butterfly bushes.

We are still considering
what we will do with the gardens.

It is so hot and humid
I cannot be outside for
very long.

July and August can be very difficult months.

My friend wishes she could fold up her garden
in the summer and bring it out again in the Autumn.
Me too.

I am called to be inside

and rest from the heat.

I am filling my art box

and creating.

The care of the Earth is my primary concern.

I love making my choices
thinking of how they will effect
those that come after me.

Looking ahead 200 years would be amazing.

I am wanting to live with zero waste.

We are going through each room.

We are re-using what we can and
re-cycling every thing else.

We are becoming more aware.
We are buying different.
We are making a difference.

We are making beautiful

with junk mail envelopes.

We are planning ahead.

We are planning for the next generation.

We are enjoying the day.

We are enjoying birds,
 bugs and books.

We are staying cool.

Happy Sunday Safari.
