I wondered if the snow I was seeing on the weather channel was coming your way. The best thing about it is that it brings the birds in close to the house. They are lucky to have your deck as refuge. The marigolds look warm even with their snowcaps.
Will you please come and look at my mystery duck on my post today and see if you can identify it? I am really having trouble with this one! We are in the mountains of NC but of course it could be migrating. Thanks!
Snow already? Pretty though it looks in your pictures, I hope our Indian summer lasts a bit longer - I have so many gardening jobs still to do this year!
Great shots of the birds. I wonder what they think about the first snow?
Some folks over in northwest Arkansas reported a light dusting of snow on their cars. A possibility of a snow/rain mix was in our forecast, but did not happen. My feelings were not hurt by being left without snow.
Gorgeous shots. How nice to see Purple Finches -- it's so much more common just to see House Finches these days. My favorite is the Goldfinch -- she looks at peace with the snow.
My goodness! You've had snow before us! It's still nice and warm up here (in the mid-40's, that's warm for now) with sunshine. A very atypical November. Sometimes we have snow this early, but not this year.
You saw a flock of cardinal??? I've never seen more than 2 at a time. They look so sweet on your back deck.
Like that you took the snow-covered marigold. They are hardy, aren't they? Namaste

Oh wow! I love the pretty nuthatch and the snow on the marigold. Our marigolds have lasted so long this year, it's been unusual!
Beautiful pictures! The red cardinal in the snow is quite lovely!

What beautiful shots. Hope your wish comes true. Love the cardinals all poufed out against the cold.
What really beautiful photos Sherry! All your colourful birds are a delight to see.
How very quickly you have gone from an Indian Summer to snow!
Snow already! Is this early for you or usual? The photo of the cardinal is wonderful, such a splash of colour! Stay warm, Sherry :-)

Thanks for stopping by! I updated my post with the info and a link to your blog! I appreciate your help!
Sherry,
I really enjoyed these snowy photos, but it seems early. Guess it'll be Indian Summer there again soon. Our Indian Summer just ended today.
I like the female cardinal. It's not often you see a picture of one of them--everyone seems to use the males. Of course, they are the redder ones!
Wonderful! Send me a few flakes my if you don't mind.
beautiful! We have a variety of finches here including the red and gold. Thanks!

With the change in the weather we have received our first trumpeter swans of the season this past week. Lots of wind, but no snow as of yet for us.
Did you wish that all people could reflect upon beauty in life and in nature as you do? :)
What wounderful pictures in a nearly intact natur.

It is that time of year. However, I must confess to wishing for a few more weeks of sun and cool weather. It is quite beautiful in its own right.
You have beautiful birds at your feeder. Great photos of them. It's good to make a wish upon the first snow!
I love these photos! What a treat.
