Indian Summer

The Juncos have returned.

They will stay all winter.
Chick-a-dees come and go.
They are friendly little birds.

Gulls circled my house this afternoon.
A warm southerly breeze kept them aloft.
I see them often in November.
The Northern Cardinals are still coming for seed.

They still act like mates even though
they have stopped singing.

I am on a quest.

I want to see as many butterflies and bees as I can
this November.

I want to remember each rose.

I walked the neighborhood.

Some of the trees are holding on to their leaves.

I placed our Jack-o-lantern out in the sun.
I hope it will dry.

It is Indian Summer.

Sherry,

You saw that Horace's Duskywing in November? That seems real late for them. That pumpkin is a funny face,,, Enjoyed the post, have not seen a junco yet.

Indian summer is a gift. We don't have it every year.
I thought I saw a junco the other day, but I wasn't sure. I'm glad they are back.
Your cardinals look so perky - full of colour and life.
Happy Indian summer,
Stay strong,

We had our first Junco in the garden this week Sherry. Your photos are great. I think the butterflies here have all gone into their winter hibernation. The plume of the grass looks like a big heart. Great capture. It is cool but sunny here. Perfect fall days lately. We must enjoy them while we can.

I have fallen behind with my comments Sherry, but I have just enjoyed your Ps and your Sunday safari. All the photos are wonderful, I loved all the beautiful butterflies!

On this post the birds are all so pretty, the colours of the Cardinals are lovely.

Enjoy your Indian Summer!

The Juncos are here too. Ours are slate gray rather than coal black. I love your warty jack o' lantern. :)

Nature is reflecting through your eyes and your eyes are reflecting Nature. You are One.
May you fly with the butterflies to all the flowers in the world.

Sherry,
Our "winter birds" have arrived in our garden as well, visiting the feeders and entertaining our cat.

Hope you can preserve your pumpkin. It's very nice carved face.
Great pictures!!

Beautiful birds.....lovely cardinals, they always looks so soft.

Gulls are so elegant in flight....they fly over our house often.....they also feed in the farmers fields......

Our indian summer is over....it is wet and cool.......blue skies for the moment have disappeared. Bees, butterflies have disappeared.......

Sunday safari will be a challenge......

It is warm today ~ the squirrels are nibbling on our jack o'lanterns that we've placed in the corner of our backgarden. Carolina Wren has returned to our garden and we are thrilled to see her again & the Juncos.
Have a wonderful weekend Sherry♥
