Sunday Safari

It is the New Tiger Moon.

We have been out in the gardens.

We have been picking tomatoes, zucchini

and making plans.

We are redefining our space.

We are bringing harmony
to every aspect of our living.

We are reading.

We are talking.

We are letting go of what we no longer need.

We are embracing new ideas.
We are using what is already in our house.

We want to live in balance with nature.

We want to live one with the birds.

A thundershower this morning
left us with over 2 inches of rain.

It is hot and humid.
I have wet lands right in my backyard.
Happy Sunday Safari.

Dear Sherry......wonderful plans.......much reading to be done for sure.
I do my very best to live in harmony with nature. Would it not be wonderful if everyone just did something, to make their gardens and homes a little greener. It would make a huge difference I am sure.

Please send rain this way, the garden is so in need of a good drink.....2" would be wonderful.

The pretty butterfly and hummingbird are lovely......your garden must be full of colour and life........

A thought provoking safari.....
have a happy and peaceful week.

Hi Sherry,
What wonderful photos you've shared - and good ideas, too. My friends and I have been discussing the concept of "less". It would be very freeing to stop accumulating, wouldn't it.

Dear Sherry;

How funny: we we're just talking of this last night! :)

I think that many of us are looking at the less is more theory. It does one good to de-clutter to enrich our lives and allow our minds some clarity. I just have such a hard time with the decisions of what to let go.

I really need to work on that, because it's time.

Sorry that I haven't been by lately. We've had house guests.

These pics are lovely!

Have a beautiful week.

Love, Vikki.

I love the pictures at the top of your post - such vivid colours of the flowers and the butterflies.

It's still hot and humid here too - we could do with some of your rain.

On the subject of decluttering and limiting oneself to the essential - we watched a television programme recently about someone trying to live without money for a year - relying on bartering his labour for food, and on the generosity of others - he was trying to live like St Francis of Assissi. He had to give up in the end as it didn't work in the modern world (there were essentials he just couldn't get without money), but he learned a lot about re-evaluating which things are important in life, and about giving time to other people and to appreciating his surroundings.

Sherry, It's hard to believe you just got two whole inches! We are in triple digits here with no rain in sight until Oct or Nov (maybe some thunder showers before but that's hazardous for obvious reasons). Good for you, going GREEN - I enjoyed your Portland post too - did you notice how GREEN Portland is, not just in foliage!

Wow on the "tigers" !!

The first pic is outstanding! The butterfly almost looks like it is part of the lily!
Doing with less is good, but not easy! Best wishes for your goal.

A Tiger Swallowtail on a Tiger Lily seems to be a very powerful symbol to me. Great shots. Living with nature is what I try to do too. The last time we painted the inside of the house we "edited" much "stuff". The house is still full. I have to have my books. Books and china are a sickness to me. I have cut back tremendously but...

The hummingbird in flight is captivating, Sherry! And your tiger lilies are lovely. I had to laugh at your wetlands in the back yard; not so funny, though, I know. We had the same thing in June; I thought I might have to convert one of my flowerbeds into a bog garden:)

Sherry, as usual you have shared some lovely photos with us. Thank you.
I have started looking around at what I have to put to a new use, instead of going out and buying more. I guess it's called thinking outside the box.

We've had a shower today and everything is so green and lush! We have 2 hummers 'sharing' our feeder. Love your photos! I'm also getting my house in order...getting rid of a few more things! Feels great! ♥

Such beautiful photos. I love the hummingbird - you've captured him (her?) so perfectly in flight!

Orange and black butterflies have a particular significance for me now.

Beautiful photos again, Sherry and interesting thoughts. It would be so good if more people understood that it is best to live in harmony with Nature rather than working against her.

The butterfly is lovely but I am captivated by the Humming Bird.

I am going to choose the rose as my favourite photo for today!! I love the fancy shoe being used as a hook for jewelry! Must point that one out to my daughter, the shoe fanatic!
