Wearing of the green

I went walking this afternoon.
When I came back to my house
I heard Carolina Wren in the Dogwood.
"Hello, Teakettle."

I was wondering if the White Lilac bush
on the east side had any buds.
It was damaged last year.

Much to my surprise the lily bed on the east side
was wearing green.

The White Lilac has buds!

Aren't buds wonderful in March? Take your heavy coats to the cleaners. You won't need them much longer.

And, oh, my Carolina Wrens disappeared for a week and I was despondent. Out nesting. Back again today for dinner :o)

Dear Cathy,
The Wren does have a big voice.
I think I will invest in some seeds.
Spring is slowly coming.

Dear Sue,
I think this green goes with everything. I was so tickled when I saw the five laying in the leaves.
Buds! I have been waiting for some to form on the forsythia so I could cut a few branches for forcing inside! Maybe this weekend.
It is a sweet, slow spring!
I am enjoying each tiny unfoldment.

Dear Tom,
LOL!!
I need to get some "50" seeds! I think they are very large plants and require lots of water and sunshine.
Mother Nature provides!

Dear Sheila,
Mother Nature likes my work.
Seeing buds on the White Lilac was very exciting. I almost lost this bush last spring when it bloomed so early. I was very concerned because last Autumn it appeared to be half dead. My husband and I let everything rest last year. This season we will see what survived the too early spring of 2007.
I am so happy Spring is taking her time this year. I do long for it but I know the heart break.
We will get to watch each stage of spring this year. I bet I take pictures!

Dear Mary,
I am hanging on to my warm coat for a few more weeks. Lows are still in the teens. April 1st I plan on packing up the long underwear.
Your birds are a few weeks ahead of mine. Glad your Wrens came back for supper. They will be bringing little ones soon. So sweet.
Spring is slowly creeping in at my house. I do not mind. I am seeing every tiny, little change.

Dear Jayne,
I am very fond of this Wren.
I have a few "inner circle" bird friends. Little Teakettle is one of them.
The universe provides!!
LOL
