Dear SusiesQs,
Thank you.
I had a wonderful time being with the Snow Geese. I felt as if I too was part of their migration.

Dear Mimi,
I often had to wipe my eyes yesterday. The magnitude was incredible. I felt great gratitude that the Snow Geese had a resting place, a place to feed and sleep protected from hunters, as they migrated. I hope all the birds find safe rest.
Our music this week is from the cd "Virtuoso Guitar" with Rita Honti playing the classical guitar. I choose Vincente Goemez's, "Romance" to help set the feeling of awe!
So glad you enjoyed this. I was looking forward to sharing Squaw Creek and the Snow Geese.

Awesome! Awesome!

Dear Sue,
Thank you. The small screen is a hinderence for the sweeping photos of the Snow Geeese. It is kind of difficult to see the "white out" of the geese. I was hoping it would come across.
Sherry, who is in awe of migration

What an awesome sight this must have been Sherry. I love to see these large flocks swooping and moving across the water or land. The music was just perfect with them. I bet that Great Egret wondered what in the world was happening with that huge flock of geese moving about. I can't believe you got so close too. They are usually so skitish.

Wow! That was incredible!! I wish I could have seen the white-out of geese in reality, but even your photos were amazing!
Thank you for sharing!!

Dear Cheryl,
It was incredible. My husband was saying last night we could take our digital recorder and record the music of the geese. Part of the magic was listening to them talk to each other.
This was a huge flock and we stood outside of our car as a secondary flock joined the primary flock already on the water. 300,000 Snow Geese is just am estimate the Fish and Wildlife has stated. It could be more!
I would love to travel around the country during migration and see all the large flocks. Next year I want to see the Sandhill Cranes.
Thank you for enjoying this.

Dear Marmee,
Since my kids are on the west coast, this year for Thanksgiving we thought the best place to spend our day was with the migrating Snow Geese. So glad we did too.
Maybe next year we can go be with the Sandhill Cranes.

Dear Sherry,

You outdid yourself here.

From Thanksgiving morning, I assume?

You know I'm shaking over those big birds in flight - my favorites being the GBH and Great Egret...

The snow geese wowed me.

I wish I were there and thank you for bringing those images here.

Not much else to say except,

You're the best.

Hugs,
Mary

What an awesome experience! The numbers of geese flying away looked amazing - and the music just perfect. Saying goodby.
Hubby and I used to visit a nature park not far from here. We'd watch them feed the canadian geese. The geese heard the sound of the tractor pulling its load of corn, and they all flocked to the field. It was amazing to see so many birds all at once.

I'm glad you had a good thanksgiving - watching geese instead of eating them!

Dear Lisa,
It was absolutely amazing!
The Great Egret posed for the longest time. My husband walked up very close. We both were taking pictures. I think the Great Egret was wondering what was with these two strange humans.
We also took a few eagle photographs. I would like to go back when more Eagles arrive. Around 300 overwinter here.
The Swans also come through in late December.

Dear Judy,

Dear Mary,
Thank you.
These photgraphs were from morning into late afternoon.
There was sun early by mid morning clouds came over and the wind picked up so it was cold...
I hope to go back in late December to be with the eagles and the swans. My birthday is the 31st. I would love to spend the day at Squaw Creek.
Time spent with the birds is time well spent.
I could also go to the butterfly garden....hummm...I think I will be doing some birthday requests.

Dear Wendy,
Anytime I can be with wild life I am a happy lady. I love the birds and bugs!
The flocks of Canadaian Geese are fun to watch. I love the v's in the sky this time of year.
