First Crocus

A crocus bloomed today.

She is my first flower of the season.

The birds are singing.

The crows fly over twice a day now.

A few piles of snow remain.
The Grackles have returned.

These are magical days,
Spring is awakening.

I want to spend every minute of daylight outside.

I took my books and my tea to the deck.

I dreamed of kites.
Soon I will fly my kite.
Soon I will hear the kite's song.

We are beginning the garden clean up.

We saw a sweet bee!
Goodbye Winter.

You saw a bee already??!!! This was the prettiest day in months and I was stuck at work. WHINE... I missed our crocus being open too. I could tell the little buds had loosened but they were closed up by the time I got home. WHINE... I am so looking forward to the weekend. It is supposed to be pretty here. I will be outside with my tea and camera. It is exciting to be able to look forward to some comfortable outside time. Hooray for your spring firsts.

A bee - already!! Wow! Spring is really here. Crows are active here too, building nests and just being noisy. But it's a welcome noise.

Love your crocus. So pretty.
Good-by winter is right!

Isn't it wonderful to see new beginnings at last Sherry! We have had cold temperatures but lovely, lovely sunshine. The Crocus are starting to flower here and the bare stems of the Lilac are showing fat leaf buds.

Your photos are as beautiful as always with the pretty, sunny coloured Crocus and all your lovely birds which are always such a pleasure to see. The kites look wonderful too. Happy Springtime Sherry :)

Hooray! The first crocus! Well, the first one in your neck of the woods. We have to wait a while yet, but the snow is receding, and there are tiny sprouts of tulip and other bulb leaves in the garden near the house!

Beautiful photos! We haven't seen our first crocus yet but the bees came out three days ago. Hooray! It's so great to see these signs of spring, isn't it? Flying a kite sounds like a great thing to do too ~ I haven't done that for years!

A crocus and a bee ♥ How wonderful! The birds have been singing on our morning walks these past few days. Yesterday I looked out my kitchen window to see Coopers Hawk sitting on the fence! My poor Sparrows are disappearing - C.H. looked well fed!

How wonderful! Spring might come again, after all. :) Sunshine here this past week with a few bird trills and a shoot or two of green. Oh, good.
