Orchard Oriole

I am smitten.
The Orchard Oriole has won my heart.
The juvenile looks so different from the adult male.

The female also looks different.

I am very fond of these charming birds.

We are on the cusp of Gemini.

I am reading about the birds of California

and planning day hikes.

I am reading about surfers
and hot surf spots.

I am learning.

I am planning.

I will write a ballad of my travels.

We have those here too. They are such quick and energetic birds it's hard to get a picture as they fly from tree to tree. You got beautiful captures!

Orchard Orioles have such a beautiful song. What fun to have an entire family in your garden. Can't wait to read your ballad.

Dear Sherry, I have missed you! And your bird friends. Your photos are amazing! I did not know baby orioles looked so different from the adults! Looks like you are planning a trip. So exciting!

Thank you for your kindness. David is gaining strength. I don't understand, but I'm happy. He is walking a little with the aid of a walker. Some birds made a nest right outside his hospital window and we could see the adults feeding the babies. Brought my camera yesterday to take their pics, but the battery was dead and today they had flown away.
