Wishbones

The first twelve years I was married I fixed a Thanksgiving dinner for my little family. We ate our dinner the Wednesday night before Thanksgiving.
I saved the wishbones from the turkeys. After the wishbones dried I painted and glittered them for our Christmas tree.

When I found the rusty metal tree I moved the wishbones to November.

Sunset

Quickly went the day.

I made my Thanksgiving cards. For my siblings I made copies of my Grandmother's poems and a photo of a Thanksgiving from when we were kids. Hope they enjoy them. I worked a bit on learning more "how to" on my computer!
Friends will receive "Catch a Dream" card with a dream catcher.

Sunrise

The morning sky is washed in brilliant color.
I bundled up to go out and greet the day.
I bowed to the East. I am thankful. I open to the adventure.

11-11

I began my day with Hawk. I ended it with Dove.
One-one, one-one, we are all one.

Suet Time

I saw the Carolina Wren at the peanuts. I knew it was time for suet cakes. Junco, taking a bath in the back pond, reminded me to check all the bird baths again.
The Song Sparrow chirped as I did my chores.
I refilled all the feeders and the baths. I think the birds are taken care of for today.
I checked the Heather. It was dry so I watered.
We do need rain.

Veteran's Day

I posted our flag. I sent my blessings.
My W.W. I post cards and photos of the Veterans in my life are on the plate rack in the hallway.
My tribute to Grandfathers, Fathers, Uncles and Brothers.
Cooper's Hawk flew in and scattered the sparrows.

Going Forth

I am bundling up and going to meet a friend for lunch and shopping. Great day to wear the Alpaca scarf and bag my daughter gave me.
There are bright spots in the morning gray, the winter Heather is beginning to bloom!
The gong is sounding off.
The wind harp is playing a full symphony of music.

Gray November Morning

The wind is from the North East this morning.

The temperatures are dropping.

I cleaned and filled the bird baths yesterday.

Pastel Sky

I spent my evening as I had spent my morning; on the deck with soft light. Mocking bird found bugs for his supper.

Mr. Cardinal had seed.

Hawk! Hawk! Hawk!

Jay sounded the call. I put my tools down.Red Tailed Hawk circled.

All the birds took cover.

Aha....

The Gray Hairstreak is small, only an inch across. Lovely little tails!

The bees are out today as well.
I had my lunch outside with the bugs! Now that I see so many November butterflies I will not be sad in October. I know butterflies are just waiting for Indian Summer.

Common Checkered Skipper

I was so pleased the tiny white mum attracted a butterfly. The Common Checkered Skipper flew from flower to flower.
Many of the flowers are finished blooming. I will think of what I can plant for next year's November butterflies.
I had not seen a Checkered Skipper before.
She is small, only 3/4 inch across.

Soft and Gentle

There is a gentle spirit in this morning's light. The soft blue sky is clear.
My deck chair beckons me to sit a spell and listen to the Northwest breeze play a melody in the wind harp; to watch the golden leaves of the Elm trees float in the air.
The Blanket Flower rebloomed this morning.
The Question Mark returned!

Gradually I am awaking. I am drinking in this November morning.
Soon I will clip down spent peonies. Soon I will gather leaves for the compost.
The ground is dry. Once again we need rain.

Star light Star bright

The Pleiades. The Seven Sisters. My husband took a photo for me of my favorite constellation. When I first saw the Pleiades the constellation looked like a large question mark in the sky to me.
He was able to capture my question mark.

It is special time in the sky. Today mercury transits the face of the sun.

Trance

My Husband says I go into a trance when I pick up leaves. I suppose so. It is like when I work with the lavender and the rosemary, I seem to float away. Today, as I finished cleaning the ivy, acorns fell on my head a few times.
I looked about.
Three pairs of sulphurs were in the miniature Snap Dragons. I am waiting on them to set seed for winter sowing in March.
The Eastern Tailed-Blue fluttered from mum to mum! I noticed her when I was emptying my canister.
One of the yellow roses opened this afternoon. My November flower.

When I am behind the lens of the camera I also float away.

Reflecting

It is quiet outside today. The wind is calm.

The sounds of Woodpeckers break the stillness.
Three Crows flew over and landed in the Pinoak. They did not caw forth. Silently they flew and perched. I watched and understood. I am reflecting today on the Laws of Great Spirit.

I watched as the Junco took a drink from the back pond.
I am thinking today about the laws of humans and the laws of Spirit.

Election results are in.
Time to find balance.
Time to learn to live in harmony.
A time for peace.
