Change

Life changes,
sometimes so gradually it is hard to notice.

My friend came over for an unexpected visit.
Once we visited each week.
Now not even once a month.
Her life has changed.
The demands of work and family
have taken her time and her attention.
Her wants and needs are different.

We shared a cup of soup.
She told of her comings and goings.
She has changed.

I am aware of the subtle changes of nature.

I watch as the leaves turn and slowly slip off the branches.

I watch the light change as dawn turns to twilight.
It is with people I seldom see the subtle change.
I too am different. I too have changed.
Many moons have passed over my roof.
My coming and goings are with the butterflies and the birds.

I hope you aren't lamenting your changes. Changes are usually good. It is when they happen so fast it takes us aback. Change is so difficult when it happens fast. It is painful when it happens to those we love and they seem to fade out of our lives like leaves of fall.

Dear Lisa,
I think I just miss my friend. We only had an hour to eat and catch up! I do not mind change usually. I just did not notice until today how much my friend had changed. I looked at me and I too have changed. I noticed today how different the two of us have become. I love her dearly and I will always be her friend. My daughter says people talk about what they do. I do birds and butterflies and gardening.

Dear Nita,
An event often changes our lives. Your life has changed.
I find I am away from the world of people. I spend my awareness with the flora and fauna. My interests are in the ways of nature.
I do enjoy visiting people's journals. I enjoy getting to know the world through the eyes of the friends I have met here. They show the birds and bugs in their backyards and I connect.

Change is such a part of life. Our family is experiencing great change right now. Plus, the seasons are changing and that makes little changes seem bigger. Don't fret. Sometimes change can be wonderful.

That the problem when you watch nature closely. You aware how fast time changes and what you lost too.

Dear Saucy,
Change is an everyday event, that is for sure! Your family has little ones on the way! This is very exciting. I love the changing of the seasons!
I am okay. When I miss my friend, I can always play outside and here.
Hugs,
Sherry

Dear Cathy,
Yes, I am aware of the passing of the month and the year. Being out in nature all day does mean I am in the flow. Seeing my friend jolted me into the awareness we are growing older. My hair is grayer! It was very nice to see her. She rushed off for the airport and I slowly cleaned up our dishes and went outside to be with the birds.
A very different sort of life we have. She is quick and I am slow.

We all change, Dear. And I like it this way, personally. I would not like to remain as if preserved in amber, so to speak.

But change does alter some things... Those are the changes which can make us a bit sad.

But, the Universe keeps moving, and changing. I suppose we need to flow with it, and not fret. :-)

Just some of my ponderings...

I wish for you, a new friend close by, who loves to be out in Nature, as you do. One who is not speeding up.

Personally, I can't see the good of speeding up, but... that's just me.

You don't totally need a new friend close by. But I still think it is a nice wish, for me to have, for you.

Hello Sherry. I like the pic of the pink clouds :-) I hope it was a shepherds delight. We have grey skies here and cold weather. Winter is on its way.

Dear Mari-Nanci,
I love your ponderings! Yes, we all change and I too like that.
I would love a daytime friend who enjoyed the birds and butterflies. I would love to go walking with my camera and a friend!
I think sometimes I get lonely during the day. I can always go visit friends in "pretty blogland" as you say. That is fun. Yet it is different.
There is a house behind me that is empty. The older people have passed on. I keep hoping it will go up for sale and a daytime friend will move in! Thank you for your wish for me. I wish it too.
I do not "need" a daytime friend but I would enjoy one.
Hugs,
Sherry

Thank you. The pink sky was a delight! Winter is coming, the seasons will change again.
I am never ready for winter!
