Sunday Safari

The bees are busy.

I am so happy to see Lady Bugs mating.

Soon the next generation will hatch.

The hover flies are mating in mid-air.

The spiders are dropping on their silks.

I anticipate rain.

The potatoes are in bloom.

The Lilies are opening.

They are full of pollen.

I cut 3 dozen peonies

and a few poppies for grave arrangements.

We honor those that have gone before us.
It is Memorial Day weekend.
Happy Sunday Safari!

What great shots Sherry. We had overcast skies today and some rain. Hopefully tomorrow will be better.

I don't think I really want to know, but I am curious. How big is that spider? And if it is big... I might have a heart attack. :) I love every single one of your photos... except that one. :)

Great macro shots. I especially love the first one you have there. The bumble bee basking up the sun.

I love your photography! I've probably told you that before, so please bear with me. I think I'm about a week behind you.

Dear Sherry....a garden full of life and colour...
I have ladybirds mating here to, as you so rightly say, a generation to come. Good news for both you and I.

Your flowers are beautiful.....to honour those that have left us is something I always do.....

I hope that you had a lovely weekend......

It is nice to see our friendly bugs thriving in the garden. I always thought the little potato blooms look good - though often overlooked for the underground part.

All of your photos are beautiful with maybe the exception of the spider ;-)

Wow, Sherry, your lilies are gorgeous, and I would love to see all of your peonies in bloom--you must have tons of them to have cut enough for so much flower bouquets. :)

Lovely photos as always Sherry - I do like the spider - I have never managed to get a decent photo of one, so I'm very impressed. And the lilies are really sensational! (I hope you don't have cats though - their pollen is poisonous to cats.)

What an outstanding pic of that spider! It really is a "close-up". And your flowers are just beautiful. Three dozen peonies!! Hope you didn't get ants up your nose when you smelled them. LOL! I love lilies. And yours just sing with joy.
Happy gardening! Thanks for sharing your photos.

What a lovely safari you have taken me on Sherry! I loved all your beautiful photos, so bright and cheerful!

Three dozen Paeonies! They must look wonderful in vases, are yours scented? I have some that are, but they are only in bud at the moment.

Beautiful photos, Sherry! I don't know which ones are more amazing--the hoverflies or ladybugs mating or the spider on the silk. Your safari was very successful this weekend!

After a week of sunshine, we've had some rainshowers again, but this time they were quite welcome, just in time to water the newly planted flowers and the farmers' crops.
