Beautiful, beautiful butterflies! I tried again today but they do not know me and I cannot get close :-) If people ask me what I do I will say I learn :-) I am learning to stop, to look, and to listen.
Dear Chris, All the butterflies are so pretty. I do like the tiny ones. So little that if one was not looking they would miss them. The butterflies will get used to you. I move very slowly and try and sneak up.... So often I just sit down and wait. sooner or later a butterfly comes to call. I also am always learning. There is so much to learn. Sherry
Dear Deb, Oh I am so tickled! Thank you. Zinnias!!! Plant zinnias! My butterflies love them and they are sun loving, drought tolerant. Easy to grow from seed. Marigolds too are wonderful. Plant lots! They like an area that is in mass. Easy for them to necter for awhile. Oh, and host plants for eggs. Once the flowers are in bloom pull up ypur chair, the butterflies will find you and you too will be able to take lots of wonderful photos! Sherry
Great Photos! Mary from Mary's Place sent me over here. Is that last photo a Gray Hairstreak? I have one on my blog, and wondered if I ID'd it correctly. Thank you for sharing these beautiful images. I'll be back!
Hi David, The Eastern Tailed-blue and the Hairstreak do look alike! After visiting your blog I see we both love the butterflies and the birds! It will be fun to get to know you and your gardens and critters. Sherry
