Out and in

I am not lasting very long outside.
It is too hot and humid.
I want to be with the birds and the butterflies.
Watching them from the inside is not as fun
as when we spend eye to eye time.

I check the birdbaths
and the butterfly "puddlers",
making sure they are filled with water.
I will perch up for a few minutes.

I get too thirsty.
I am over hot.
I have to go back inside.
Once I cool down I go back outside.
I make my rounds.
I say my, "Hello."

I am not the only creature seeking the cool.

We need rain.
Our air needs washing.

Dear Sherry,

Your thrasher looks mighty hot (under the collar) :o)

I like that first photo of being eye to eye.

Take care of yourself in this heat. I always pay attention to the air quality advisories.

You can sit at your tidy desk and gaze out the window until evening time. That's my plan today.

Hugs,
Mary

Dear Mary,
I am backing up July photos and making a slide show for my digital frame this afternoon. I keep popping up and looking out the back door! What if the Zebra Swallowtail comes to call and I miss her???
It is yucky outside!
Weird light not good for photos anyway
See you at sunset.

Dear Chris,
Please do share some rain!
I seem to spend much of my thinking time wondering about rain.
The Silver-spotted Skipper flew up onto the deck rail when I sat down. Very close too. I think she was wondering what I was doing.
Sometimes the birds do that too. After I finish watering and feeding they will come and almost say, "Thank you."
Sherry, who wants to be outside!

We do need rain so badly. Every living thing in the garden is in desparate need of rain..!
Britain has so much and we have none..!

I so agree in the needed rain and it does make it hard to get out and enjoy nature when it's this hot!

Sherry, is that a female Ruby-throated hummingbird?

Dear Sheila,
The winds surely will shift soon and we will get our needed rains. When it is muggy outside I can't stay out. The air seems too heavy to breathe.
You have been way too hot and dry.
Hope the rains come, cool and clean your air and give everything a nice long drink!

Hi Mon@rch,
You have inspired me to find a banding station near me. I am sure there must be one right??
I would love to see how it is done.
I will wait for Fall as it is too miserable to be outside for long.
Feed and water the birds than I pop back inside.

Dear Mary C.,
That little one is a juvenile!
The Hummingbirds have the babies out and they are nectaring in the flowers and the feeders.
They are cute!
