Rain!

We waited until 10pm to walk.
It was still hot and humid.

While we were walking the wind shifted.
A strong northern wind began to blow.
The temperature began to drop.
Lightning was flashing in the north.
Rain was coming in.
I fixed a bowl of popcorn and sat at the back door.
I watched the lightning and listened to the rain.
Real rain.
Thank you.
I have missed the rain.

I'm so glad you are finally getting some rain, Sherry. Now, let's hope it soaks in and renews the parched earth. Let's also hope that the rain travels east where they need it, too.

I am pleased you have had some good rain :-) I love to sit and watch the lightning too. I'm sure your air is much cooler and calmer now. Have a great day :-)

Maybe your storm will head my way?

I'd make popcorn, too. I love listening to the rain and the smell of the front moving through. Wow. A cool rain on the sidewalks would sizzle and dry up right now.

Thanks for sharing your night, Sherry! I hope your flowers are standing tall.

Hugs,
mary

Rain! Oh, I was so happy and so relieved to hear the thunder, and then the rains came. It rained on and off all night long. It was a torrential downpour. I don't know how much we received, but I have a couple of inches still standing in pots out side.

Sending some to all who need it!

Lovingly,

I am glad you got some rain. We are under heat advisories all week, with no precip in the forecast. sigh.

I love hearing and watching the rain, too. It makes it wonderful for sleep! :-)

Hi Mary C,
I almost cried I was so thankful!
I turned the outside lights on so I could get a few photos. Now on to the East Coast and on up to Canada. I thought I saw some rain going to North Carolina.

Dear Chris,
I am grateful!
Lightning is incredible! One of these days I will get some photos. Last night I was just happy to see the rain. It is way too hot again today but at least we had a good soaking rain.
Being hot and wet is better than being hot and dry.
I am perched up inside this afternoon as the temps go into the 90's.
Hope you are enjoying your holiday.
It will zoom by!

Dear Mary,
I saw the storm head east. Now will it hold together all the way to your house??
The movie of the rain was excellent. I highly recommend it to everyone.
Today we have the steam rising from the hot walks and streets!
My flowers and all the trees are very happy! If they are happy I am happy.
Gentle, soaking, cooling rains for you,
Sherry

Dear Sprite,
Thank you for calling the storm in! I know it was suppose to stay north of us. It was kind of you to think of my trees and newly planted bushes. I took the "anger approach, the not fair, whinny child scream, approach" Next time I will remember to be gracious and love the storm to me. I guess I am still a bit human!
I really, really wanted the rain!
You are so kind.
Thank you,
Sherry

Dear Tracy,
It is hard to be outside when the heat and humidity are so high. Hope you are drinking lots of water and staying cool.
I love falling asleep to the sound of rain. It is comforting.
I know it is summer in the mid-west and heat and humidity are part of that. I just cannot go with out rain. I like cloudy days!
We also have the heat advisories.
Maybe Sprite can send some rains to you too. She is good!

Dear Naturegirl,
I too spend my time looking for rain. When it is too dry my spirit seems to be thirsty all the time!Like the trees I just cannot get enough water.
Hope you get some more rain soon. A wee bit is nice but a gentle soaker refreshes.

Dear Deb,
So glad to hear you had a day of rain. Rain does make all the difference. I bet your birds and butterflies were happy for it. My tress and bushes needed a good drink too.
If I can, I like to walk in the rain.
