Dear Lynne, I just never know what I will see when I step out the door. I love that about nature, it is always different. Now that I saw where the female Tiger Swallowtail has laid her eggs I will try and get a picture of her caterpillar. I have Black Swallowtail and her caterpillers. I would love to have photos of all the butterflies and their cats! Slowly I am making a backyard butterfly guide book! Sherry
Dear Sprite, What will I do when the Hummingbirds and Butterflies leave for the winter? I am rather dependent on them! This juvie Hummingbird is so funny! I enjoy the birds eating the flower seeds. They look so "right". Sherry
I know that winter can be difficult for you and others. You did take some BEAUTIFUL photographs this last winter though.
What do you love about winter? I love the comfort of a good friend and good conversation, a warm blanket, and some hot tea. Sometimes a nice fire in the fireplace (it's too hot to think about that right now), and a good book can be something to really treasure.
You will look forward to spring while looking at all your beautiful photos this winter.
We could have a Butterfly and Hummingbird countdown too! Ooo, that would be something to look forward to, eh?
Maybe you could take some moving pictures and then project them all over the walls and ceilings of your home. Wouldn't that be cool?
I like hibernating in the winter. I guess I'm just a Turtle, or a Bear maybe?
Dear Sprite, I love you!!!! Yes, we will have a Butterfly and Humminbird countdown come winter! That will be fun. I was able to get some nice photos of the birds last winter. Plus I like the idea of cold right now! There was pretty snow and lots of nice walks! I cannot seem to get too excited about winter yet. You are right winter has all sorts of charms. I like to bake in the winter. I also like blankets and fires in the fireplace. I like making plans for spring gardens too. Maybe once Autummn comes I will have winter ideas. I just know my butterfly days are numbered. I will enjoy them now! I can think about them leaving another day. I think I am more of a Swan, or a Tiger....Black Female Tiger Swallowtail, that's me! Thank you for calling me "Butterfly Woman"! Hugs, Sherry
Dear Nita, I am rather used to my photos! Thank you for enjoying them. I have a certain style, close up and personal I call it! I was going to work on my landscape photography but it is too hot! Maybe this Autummn I will get back to that. Right now I am learning a new filter. It had been so sunny that I needed to put a polarizing filter on my lens to decrease the glare. The Hummers do like zinnias as do the butterflies. Sherry
