I had a dream

I dreamed I was walking in a field of thistle.
Butterflies surrounded me.

This morning I went hunting for a field of thistle.

I found two.

Dreams can come true.

I will keep hunting for thistle and butterflies.
I will keep the dream alive.

Keep hunting, as I will, too. It's the beginning of the end of the season, you know! I'm not giving up and I know you won't...

Dear Lisa,
LOL!!MLK might not think my dream as socially aware as his. I do think someone needs to speak for the butterflies and the wild flowers!
I am looking for Monarchs on Thistle or Hummingbirds on Thistle. I liked the Swallowtails and the Gold Finches in the Thistle, very pretty.
I shall go thistle hunting again soon. The thistle is so very lovely right now almost at peak bloom.

Dear Cheryl,
Thank you. I keep hoping people will begin to see how beautiful the "weeds" are and stop killing them!!!
I think I shall do thistle awareness workshops. LOL..At least I can show how beautiful bugs and weeds are.
Thank you for loving the bugs.

Dear Jules,
Thank you. I find if I sit quietly the Gold Finches forget I am about.
Have a safe and fun weekend.

Dear Mary,
I am thinking of trying to grow thistles again in my backyard. The last ones the deer ate.
I do think they are beautiful, and the bugs really like them and need them.
I am on "bug rights" "Stop the killing of our good weeds" and other ralling calls.
Shall we march together?? I will bring the bees.

Dear Vikki,
Thank you! I saw the highway department spraying the roadway and I almost started to cry....
All the bugs and the plants that were killed for no reason what so ever... They can come live at my house. I have bittersweet growing. It became endangered after being sprayed to death! Silly and stupid humans!!!
I am watching Monarchs, maybe ten, glide around my yard enjoying the wild milkweed...another sprayed to death sort of vine...
I am on a soap box...
"Save the weeds!"
Hugs,
Sherry

Very nice...I'm glad I'm not the only one who stops to admire the thistles...although I also think the burdock looks nice in flower (in the wild).

Dear Chris,
The Butterflies love the thistle as do bees. If it is good for them it is good for me.
I also stop for Goldenrod and Queen Ann's Lace. I will have to go Burdock hunting! I bet the bugs like it too.
Have a safe weekend.

Beautiful photos. Your goldfinch looks as if he's wearing a thistle crown!

Thistles look similar to knapweed, well the color, for sure... I wonder if they are related tho. My post with similar flowers is at my other blog, Poetry & me. There are some very pretty weeds out there, I found a yellow one in my backyard this summer that is gorgeous, I posted that also.

I love your dreams Sherry, they sure are colorful... and fun to look at... it'a always a pleasure to come over to your journal. I enjoyed immensely!

Dear Carol,
I am so happy you enjoyed the photo essay. I do have fun hunting for blooms and bugs! I will do a search for "knapweed" and pop over to see your pretty blooms. I am wild for the wild flowers. The bees and the butterflies seem to go for them too.
