Sunday Safari

These are grasshopper days.

Robber Fly

and Sweat Bee days.

Garden spiders are spinning their webs.

We hiked for 3 1/2 hours, hunting for bugs.
The breeze was from the east.

Our summer days are slowly slipping away.

Nice detail in the grasshopper close up.

That was a long hike! You got some clear pics. I haven't seen too many grasshoppers as yet. They usually come out mid-to-late August and stick around until the first frost. I hope we still have lots and lots of summer left!

Dear Wren,
Thank you. The grasshoppers were everywhere. I wanted to get pictures of them jumping but was not able. They are fast!

Dear Wendy,
It was a long hike. The weather has cooled and the humidity has dropped. It was beautiful out.
I love the end days of summer when they are cooler like yesterday and again today. When I get up and it is already 80 degrees I know I am inside for the day! This morning it was 62!
I am seeing all sorts of seeds and nuts, so Autumn is coming. I love early Springs that last for three full months and early Autumns that take us deep into Winter.
Already the light has changed.
