From Hearts to Kites

February things are packed up.
The hearts are stored until next year.
Valentine roses are drying in a pretty basket.
Candy boxes are wrapped in tissue.

The Kites are out!
My favorite part of March is flying kites.

I am like a Hobbit.
My front door is yellow.
In March my colors are chiefly green and yellow.

We celebrate the Celtic tradition in March.
Lots of shamrocks and Leprechauns decorate my house.
I will sow my clover seeds in little shamrock pots tomorrow.

Spring cleaning has begun.

Oh, what fun! Absolute! Charming, delightful and colorful, too! Once I put a magnet on my door...but that's about the extent of my decorating - other than the fridge where the four-year-old displays his pencil-ings. Nice post, Sherry!

Dear Sue,
I have so much "stuff" that to enjoy it all I decorate each month. I have a very involved program of study too!
I think four-year-olds do the best art! Many of my decorative pieces are drawings and paintings the children did when they were young.
I switch out photographs too and dishes and all sorts of treaured items.
I once was an antique dealer....
March should be full of fun. Not only does Spring arrive, we spring forward and to top it all off I am going on a retreat.
Glad you enjoyed this.

Maybe I will be inspired by your kites to get my hearts packed away tomorrow. Your kites look like such fun. They bring back memories of my Dad trying to fly a kite with me.

Dear Lisa,
I adore kites. I think everything about them says, "fun!" I did not fly kites when I was a kid. When I met my husband he introduced me to the kite. We have flown kites every March since. I have some darling old pictures of my kids and their kites. When I set them out today I was so tickled. They are little and their kites look way too big for them. I have a pocket kite I carry in my purse.
There is a town on the west coast of Oregon that has a kite festival in August. In Japan there are kite festivals too. I have been to kite flying events. Amazing and so beautiful. Some people make their kites.
In my stairwell I have two kites hanging. One is a dragonfly the other a butterfly. They are big. We have flown them but they take a good wind and lots of space. My favorite kite is my little yellow diamond shaped one. It is easy to fly and I have it all set up and ready. We have four of these diamond shaped kites in different colors. I have them in a quilt rack in the hall so we can grab a kite and go.
I sang, "Let's go fly a kite" today as I finished up my decorating and cleaning. I am so looking forard to March.

What a magical post. I went to Ireland a few years back. Land of the fairies, if you see the landscape you know why.
Like you my house changes with the seasons....its lovely to hear how your house will change.

Dear Cheryl,
Changing the house every month is a wonderful way to create excitment. The colors of March, green and yellow, are so happy.
All the photos I see of Ireland always are so beautiful. The Emerald Isle....I am sure I would enjoy being there. I would also like to see Scotland and Wales. I would love to do some birding. It would be so fun to fly a kite in Ireland.
If I do plan a trip I will need a few more field guides. If I started planning a trip now I might be ready in five years. I am very slow on trip planning but once we go we have lots of fun!
