Sleet and snow

Once again the Cardinals
help to tell my story.

When the sleet began a pair of Cardinals
came to my office window.

Squirrels were in their feeder.
I was still in my robe and slippers.

The birds do not mind my hair uncombed.

They like me just the way I am
as long as I chase the squirrels and bring fresh seed.

LOL! The third photo of the female looks like she's saying, "Will you stop goofing around and give us some service?"

We are having the same icy weather this morning Sherry. Isn't it yucky? We had our highest count of male Cardinals in some time this morning, 6. Every bird that is around must have felt the ice coming down.

Dear Mary,
I was working in my office when a pair of Cardinals came to my window ledge. I knew they had seed so I was not sure what the trouble was. I got up and looked into the backyard. I saw 6 squirrels in the feeders and on the deck. The Cardinals will share their seed but after awhile I think they get tired of the squirrels. This one pair of Cardinals is very friendly with me. Like Mockingbird, they know how to get my attention.
I have bird relationships...

Dear Lisa,
I hope you are very careful!
The ice and snow does draw the birds to the feeders. The Cardinals are beautiful. Our morning chorus this spring should be outstanding with so many Cardinals. The trick is to get to Spring.
I stayed home and read! Lots of fun.

Dear Mari-Nanci,
My husband called me while he was out checking on a job and said huge snowflakes were falling. They never did come to my backyard. All I received was the sleet. I bet the huge flakes would have gotten me dressed and out the door.

Dear Tom,
Thank you! With so many Cardinals coming to the backyard I have lots of subjects to choose from.
I was wanting to take photos of the sleet and the Cardinals were very accommodating.

Dear Anna,
So often I will sit outside with the birds and read or write. The camera lays on my lap, just in case a great photo shows itself. The birds like me to sit in my chair and be quiet. Yesterday I was standing on the deck in my robe and slippers while the sleet came down. I was keeping the squirrels out of the feeders so the Cardinals could have a snack.
After a short while I had to go in! I was cold and wet!

Dear Jayne,
I also think the Cardinals look pretty in the snow and sleet. They do stand out nicely. Plus, as soon as the weather takes a turn they are out in numbers. Easy for me to pop out and take a few photos.
