New Pumpkin Moon

On the first hour and the first minute,
eastern daylight time
the Moon was new.

It is the New Pumpkin Moon.
I dedicate this New Moon to my friends.

Today I celebrate my friends
from the past,
in the present,
and of the future.

My candle will burn today and the circles of melted wax will merge.

Thank you for walking with me
when the road was rocky.
I remember dancing in the meadows,
rejoicing in the dawn.
If the winds of change blow us apart
we are always near
in our hearts.

It is exciting to get to know you,
I celebrate who you are.
Thank you for smiles and laughter,
for your willingness to teach an easier,
softer way.

With an open heart I look forward to tomorrow.
I know you are coming into my life.
With mutual care and respect we will
embrace each other.

Friendship is the glow in life.
Thank you for your friendship.
Happy New Pumpkin Moon.

Dear Chris,
It is pumpkin time. Time to light the fire and gather with friends.
Happy New Pumpkin Moon to you too.
I love the way you have the moon phases on your side bar. How did you do that?

Dear Mary,
It is wonderful getting to know you! I feel as if we have been friends ever since High School.
One of these days we will sit in pedicure chairs and giggle and laugh and have refreshments!
I named the New Moons last year. They were nameless, can you imagine? Somebody had to do it.

Dear Jayne,
Thank you! I had a most delightful day outside with the birds. The sparrows are getting to know me. I did see Chipping Sparrow, my favorite sparrow! I also saw many Juncos. They will be here all winter now. I am so happy to see the winter birds return.

Hello Cathy,
Thank you. I do treasure all my friendships! Each one is different. Each friend holds a special place in my heart.

Dear Sheila,
Thank you. A wise, older woman told me when I was a young bride that if I treated family like company and company like family everyone would always feel special.
As the years have go on so many of my family and friends have passed through the veil. I expect that will continue. I celebrate the times we once were together. I also realize meeting new people and learning their ways keeps me connected. The blogs are excellent for expanding my awareness and my friendships. I always enjoy reading your journal. I may not be able to travel to all the different cities and see all the delights you do but through your photos and your words I can experience some of your joy.
Thank you for being my friend.

Dear Sprite,
You sweet thang!
I bet you and I have been friends, soul sisters and happy travelers for eons! The minute I met you I "knew" you!
Thank you...I wear my spirit on my head...heart on my sleeve...soul on my back. My friends, I hold tenderly in my arms.
Happy New Pumpkin Moon.
She is lovely even when we do not see her; just like you!
To the stars and back again,

Dear Nita,
If I could I would take all the troubles of the world and wrap them in a pretty ribbon and place them in a box, a very pretty box! I would know the troubles are still available to look at, but I would not have the sadness of them. As it is we have hope. Hope is a power much greater than myself. I send you hope and joy each day. I call you a new friend. I am happy to have found you.

Oh dear, I didn't realize that this New Moon is the Pumpkin Moon. But now I do.

How lovely to burn your candle and let the pools meet and meld. What a lovely word picture. And eventual, REAL picture.

Follow the link, Sherry :-) Hope it works for you.

Dear Chris,
Thank you! It did work. I had thought I would put the Moon Phases here on Corner but it went on Walking in Beauty...???
I guess Corner is already a busy place! Walking in Beauty is rather quiet and I go there every day!
Thank you! You are a good friend, so willing to share.
Oh joy!
Thank you again.

Dear Mari-Nanci,
I have lots of fun! I like the way a three wick candle burns and turns into one pool of fuel for all three wicks! Just like friends...when we pool together life is easier and so much more fun.
Chris just shared how to put the Moon Phases on the sidebar. Walking in Beauty ended up with two of them and I do not know how to remove one!! Maybe my daughter, my IT Lady, will give me a hand later...LOL
Working together makes life grand for all of us.
I am so excited...Moon Phases!!!
Oh joy,
