Bird Time

Before the butterflies come out in the mornings
I like to sit with the birds.

The female Humming bird must be nesting.
She feeds and will perch up for a minute but not for long.
The Gold Finches have their own tree.
They drink from the back pond.
The Baltimore Orioles also have their own tree,
I was out of grape jelly so they enjoyed strawberry preserves.
Robins like fresh cherries too.

Great pics, Q :-) Do you get plagued by wasps though when you put out strawberry preserves?

I need to buy some cherries and see what happens. I rely on your observations :o) The birds are hungy without the bugs.

Dear Chris,
I already have wasps and hornets and thousands of bees so I do not think I would notice! Plus the birds eat 99% of the preserves or the jellies every day, the raccoon finishes up what they leave.
The stingers do not bother me or my husband. I think they are pretty.

Dear Mary,
I kept reading on others Blogs how the birds were eating all their cherries. I do give dried cherries and raisons so I thought I bet some birds would like fresh fruit.
Now I see Robins are joining the fruit eaters!
Some butterflies also like rotting fruit.
No bugs concerns me Mary.
You need bugs. Bugs are protein
for the birds. Hummingbirds eat bugs too. They feed them to their young.
Okay cool down and rain.
Ordered for you...
Try and keep your spirits up hopefully this weird too hot and dry weather will change soon for you.
I am keeping "East Coast Mary"
in my blessings.
Two limes in your water today for two times the yumm.

Dearest Sprite,
With all the butterfly photos I thought it would be nice to show the birds are still around. I sit withthem before and after butterfly time.
It is a busy place!
Love,
~Q~
