The Pink Lady
My Mother loved the color pink.
She wore pink house dresses when she scrubbed her pink and gray linoleum floor.
She applied her pink lipstick standing in her pink and black bathroom.

It was fitting she said her goodbye in the wee hours of Easter Monday.
It was fitting we said our prayers during the Pink Full Moon.

I dedicate my day to her.

Dear Mary,
My Mother's term of endearment for me was "Q".
Corner is my everyday tribute to her.
Thank you.

Dear French Nest,
Anniversaries can be difficult.
If I can remember my Mother's laugh I am in good spirits.
She REALLY liked the color pink.
I so enjoy you and your Mother's relationship. It is a blessing.
Thank you,
Sherry

I knew that every time I came to your blog I left feeling more peaceful, serene and calm than I had been before I visited. Knowing now that, among all the other things your blog is to you and to us, it's also a daily tribute to your mother touches this daughter's (and mother of daughters) heart.

There could certainly be no more fitting tribute than your daily efforts to inject beauty, thought and mindfulness into the world.

Dear Deb,
Thank you for blessings. I will use them carefully. As I grow older I attend more funerals than births. It is part of the cycle of life. I treasure each moment I have with my dear loved ones.
Thank you for friendship.

Dear Mary,
My days of being a daughter are over. My parents gave me the feeling that no matter what, I would be cared for. Now my husband and children offer that assurance. I, in turn, offer to them the knowlegde that as long as I am able, I will be here for them.
I do wonder, if anything would happen to me, who would take care of the birds, the plants and the bugs?
Thank you for enjoying the quiet way of life. The sounds of the city are silent tonight; I hear the rain, the birds and the memories of my Mother laughing.
