I Surrender

I can find beauty
when the flowers succumb to the snow.

I can lay down my hopes and my dreams.
I can accept this day, as it is.
I can feel sad.

It a sweet sadness; a poignant April day.
It is part of our cycle.
It is part of our almanac.
Beauty comes in many ways.
It is not good or bad.
It is for me to find.

The morning sun rose over my house.
I took my seed out to the birds.
This shall pass.
The snow will melt.
The birds will sing and flowers will bloom again.

Dear Mary,
I hope so!
The 18 degrees and 9 nights of low to mid 20's about wiped my gardens out! The heavy snow was the finale!
Sad but it will be okay.
I had to get past the sad to see the beauty.

Lovely, Sherry! Sometimes it takes more to get beyond the sad. I love your words and thoughts in this post! And the photos surely define the merger of winter and spring beauty.

Dear Sue,
I think I must be a realist/romatic! Always I have the knowingness of the sad yet I look for beauty. Always I look for the beauty.
It is there if I dig deep enough.
