Morning Showers

It is raining.
It is cold.
I feel isolated; inside looking out.
I want to be with the rain, the wind and the flowers.
I want to be with the birds.

I bundled up.
With my coat and hat, gloves and blanket, leg warmers and hot coffee
I went outside.
It is outside I can see the beauty of the Common Grackle
and a female Cardinal giving seed to her mate.
It is outside I feel connected.
It is outside with the rain, the wind, the flowers and the birds I belong.

Do not feel isolated, Q. Your pics are outstanding as usual. I love the way you capture the birds together, you have a real talent for photography.

No matter what the weather is like outside, just being with nature has such a calming effect...Watching your birds is such a joy.

Dear Chris,
I only feel isolated when my bird friends are outside and I am stuck inside! I do not like being cold! Getting all bundled up was the only option. I did okay for about an hour. The wind reddend my checks and once my eyes were watering from the cold I had to come in and warm up. Thank goodness I was able to get a few photos. I like the bird behavior photos too. Right now the birds are pairing up and it is a delight to watch them. I had not seen the female doing seed giving. That was a real treat. I have seen lots of Dove mating! Hopefully we will have babies in a few weeks.
That will be fun!

Dear Deb,
I do try to get outside as much as I can. It is calming and I feel so connected when I can breathe the air and watch the clouds. This terrible cold snap gas bothered my spirits. April, for me, is usually outside time. I cut flowers for the house and enjoy the birds and bees and butterflies. It was a shock to my system when the temperatures plummeted on April 2nd. They just do not seem to be rebounding. Watching the gardens freze night after night has been very hard.
Thankfully the birds are bringing joy and laughter.

Sherry,

I feel the same. It rained all day yesterday and I stood at the window and wished I were outside with them. But I did fill the feeders.

The sun will warm our backs soon!

Hi Mary,
I go out! I just cannot stand it. Once outside the entire world opens up.
I think the lost spring has changed the way I do April! Hopefully all will okay.
Today the sun came out and it did warm up. I see snow is in our forecast for Saturday!
It is too silly!
